About Robert Buffington

Robert grew up in the Pennsylvania towns of Progress, Colonial Park, Elizabethville and Loyalton. In later years, he managed to escape to California, where he spent one miserable year in Modesto. One year later, his life improved greatly when he moved to Northridge. Fortunately, he managed to move to San Diego area before the Northridge earthquake of 1994, where he had already graduated from UC San Diego. UC San Diego is where he would later become employed as Programmer/Analyst and System Administrator for research laboratories within the organized research units (ORUs) of the Center for Research in Language, Institute for Neural Computation, and Kavli Institute for Brain and Mind.

In his spare time, he enjoys watching movies, listening to music, hiking, biking, and trying to figure out how things work.

Currently, Robert is a system administrator of UC San Diego, specializing in network and systems support for Organized Research Units. Apparently, he enjoys this career, becuase he's been doing it for about 25 years.
